This session will explore the escalating risks faced by workers across Ontario amid many internal and external stressors and address the growing threats of workplace violence and harassment, such as uncivil, disrespectful, and abusive behaviours. We will discuss why these behaviours are on the rise and how a trauma-informed approach can be strategically employed.
This approach aims not only to prevent internal violence and harassment, but also to create a safer environment for employees, emphasizing the importance of a psychologically safe workplace. Participants will gain a better understanding of how past traumas can impact workers’ actions and behaviours in the workplace and how making some adjustments to our approach can improve safety and reduce conflict and misunderstandings on teams.

This free safety connection will cover Ontario specific regulatory requirements, such as O.Reg.833 and O.Reg.490, related to respirator use in the workplace and explore the actions employers and workers can take to effectively use respirators.
